Keyhole surgery, commonly referred to as laparoscopic surgery, is a type of surgery in which a tiny camera is inserted into the body. It can be used for surgical procedures as well as the diagnosis of disorders pertaining to the abdomen and pelvic. Compared to standard surgery, laparoscopic surgery has a number of benefits, such as reduced discomfort, fewer scars, and quicker recovery. A gynecologist or surgeon using laparoscopic surgery does the operation while under general anesthesia. The patient is not in pain and is unconscious. Two to four tiny, less than half-an-inch incisions are made during laparoscopic surgery. The camera requires one incision, while surgical instruments require the other ones. Through a type of surgery called laparoscopy, a surgeon can access the inside of the pelvis and abdomen without making major skin incisions. Keyhole or minimally invasive surgery are other names for this process.
