Laparoscopic Surgery

Laparoscopy is a type of surgery that uses smaller cuts than expected. The procedure is named after a laparoscope, a thin tool with a small video camera and light on the end. When a surgeon goes through a small incision and enters your body, they watch a video monitor and can see what is going on inside you. Without these tools, they would have to make larger openings.
